How To Add a Gmail Account To Outlook (IMAP)

Most people grow tired of having to continually log into their Gmail accounts through the web browser. Today we will learn how to add a Gmail account to Outlook and make our lives a little bit easier.
1. First, Log into your Gmail account from a web browser and access settings (click the gear icon on the upper right and click Settings)
2. Choose Forwarding and POP/IMAP on the top and make sure IMAP is enabled
3. Click Save Changes at the bottom of the window to close it
4. Next you may need to enable access for less secure apps (You can do that here)
5. Now we are ready to add our Gmail account to Outlook
6. Once at the account setup screen click Next (For a guide on how to get to this screen click here)
7. Choose Yes and click Next
8. Choose “Manual setup or additional server types” and click Next
9. Choose “POP or IMAP” and click Next
10. Enter the settings below replacing Your Name, Email Address, and Password with your personal information
11. Click More Settings on the bottom right
12. In the Outgoing Server tab check “My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication”
13. In the advanced tab enter the Server Port Number and encryption settings below
14. Click OK
15. When back in the Add Account window click Next
16. Make sure the tests complete successfully and hit Close
17. Click Finish
18. Your Gmail account should now be added to Outlook
